Trip to St. Maarten/Martin, September 2002
20 September 2003 - 27 September 2003

The Pool at Oyster Bay Resort seems to merge with the ocean
This scrapbook is an account of our visit to the divided (politically) island of Saint Martin and Sint Maarten (aka SXM). If you've seen any of my earlier scrapbooks, you know that my usual technique is to gather my notes and other information, then organize everything into topics. This scrapbook is different: I kept a diary (on my Palm handheld) during the trip, day by day, and this scrapbook is that diary, with some pictures, as I originally wrote it. I haven't organized anything. My thoughts are interspersed with the days' events.

Well... I have done just two things to organize: As you may know, I go on and on about food (eating is one of the highlights of traveling, for me). In case you find that tedious, I've placed the "Lunch" section of each day at the end. When you get to that, you can skip to the next day, if you like. On the other hand, if you're only interested in my impressions of the restaurants, there's a list of links to take you to those, too. And, finally, there's a list of links to take you directly to some of my meanderings, embedded as they are in the day-by-day diary, in case you're only interested in the meanderings

And, of course, to see a larger view of any of picture in this scrapbook (even the ugly ones of me <g>), just click on it.

Here's the trip basics: We flew into SXM from Miami on Saturday, 20 September, and stayed at the Oyster Bay resort on (surprise) Oyster Bay. We left on Saturday, 27 September. If you want to know any more, start clicking.
