Specifically, the Royal Palm Crowne Plaza.

We'd always stayed at the Days Inn on 21 street at the beach, but someone is building a humungous condo next door to it. They have been for the last two years. And it looks like they will be for the next ten or so. The construction noise makes the Days uninhabitable. As we discovered last year.

So this year we tried the Royal Palm Crowne Plaza. Very nice -- much nicer than the Days Inn. Also much more expensive, but hey, if you pay for plastic, you get plastic. The Crowne Plaza is right next to the Lowes, which is even more expensive (and so I assume even nicer). Our room overlooked the Lowes and its the Palm Promenade, which I pictured in last year's album. (To see last year's picture, click here and scroll to the bottom of the page.) So for this year's album I offer a picture of the Palm Promenade from above.

The keycard (scanned below) shows the front of the Crowne Plaze -- the facade of a historic hotel from the Art Deco era. The rest of the hotel (everything behind the facade) is neither historic nor authentic, but is very nicely done in the Art Deco spirit. I submit a picture of one of the lamps in our room. Judi loved this lamp so much that she wanted me to pack it away in my luggage. It didn't fit. It was too big.
