SS Norway PosterThe legendary S/S Norway left for her final Carribean cruise on 26 August 2001. Because of the significance of this cruise, this scrapbook includes some of the ship's history. Being the final cruise, it wasn't like any other. There were some interesting passengers. They included hundreds of French people (most of whom were elderly and spoke no English) who were "sending off" the ex-S/S France (see A Brief History of the S/S Norway). There were also lots of "Norway fanatics," who had sailed on the ship many times before (in one case, hundreds of times before), and knew the ship in excruciating detail, from stem to stern. They were on board to pay their last respects, and say goodby to an old friend they would never see again.
